How to use a head tweezers

Recently, there was some talk on our forum about making rings. I mentioned that I always use a head tweezers to secure the top of the ring to the shank, like with this orbit ring. This tweezers will work with any ring unless it has a large open area, bigger than the pad on the tweezers, like this ring. In that case, I used a piece of enameling sheet mica and used it as a support for the tweezers' pad and it worked just great. The mica provided a flat base that is simple to shape and heatproof.

I hope this makes your ring fabrication easier!!

Those tweezers are such a wonderful idea! Especially if you're hands are prone to shaking at the wrong moment.

If Rio Grande ship to the UK I might be tempted into these, they'd be really useful :)

Great video. Em

I have been dying to know how everyone gets the shank straight!

Careful on the tension! The first time I used one of those things I put it on too tight and collapsed the shank, oops!

HAHA!! Now you know!

Yes, Sara, the video cut out on me but that does happen. You want just enough tension to keep everything snug but not so much that it collapses. Good point!!
