Members' News for the Month of January

Welcome 2014!  This is an update on what our members are doing this frigid month of January.

Drum roll please,

Miranda Scott of House on Hudson, has been selected as a finalist for the 2014 NICHE Awards, in the category of "Silver with Stones". Winners will be announced on January 18th, 2014 at the Buyer's Market of American Craft in Philadelphia.  Congratulations Miranda!

Shae Freeman's belt buckles (aka citizenobjects) are going to be featured in the winter addition of Belle Armoire! Available January 1st on newstands everywhere.  Awesome Shae!


L. Sue Szabo will be showing a series of brooches, called Stitches, at the upcoming international exhibit called "Material Matters". This exhibit is part of East Carolina University's metal symposium and is being held at the Leo Jenkins Gallery at the School of Art and Design, ECU, Greenville, NC. The show will be up 1/14/14-2/10/14.

Bracken Designs will participate in an invitation-only luxury celebrity gift lounge hosted by GBK Productions on January 10-11, 2014 at an exclusive location in Beverly Hills, California, in honor of The 2014 Golden Globes Nominees and Presenters. All attending celebrities will receive a pair of these earrings in their swag bags. These sterling silver and cultured freshwater pearl earrings were designed and handcrafted by Laura Bracken for the Golden Globes event.  These gorgeous earrinngs are pictured below-
