EMJC–February 2013–“POP ART”
Our February Challenge due to January 31st was:
Inspired by POP ART artist. Please include artist name and creation that inspired you!
Let get creative !
Can’t wait to see your creations!
Laura Bouton
“Keith Haring is one of my favorite pop artist, my son had Keith Haring coloring books when he was little, I think I liked coloring them more then him. Anyway, I like how Keith Haring uses heart designs in some of his pieces which inspired me to do this pendant. Pop artists usually use bright colors, but I felt the need to make it with the earthy tones that I love.”
Inbar Bareket
“I was inspired by Jasper Johns - Target.
I LOVE Pop Art for many years. I looked for simple design yet with my small touch. All circles are moving. This pendant/brooch is made from 10 layers.”
Evelyn Markasky
“Kind of a cross of Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, and Batman. Copper, vitreous enamel, glass beads, and rubber stick on letters.”
Quercus Silver
“My inspiration this month is Andy Warhol, of course. The digitised image of my son really made me look closely at his features as he approaches young manhood and all the changes that will bring.
My brooch is titanium and Tyvek, which is a strong and versatile paper.”
Stunning ladies !
Our March challenge due to February 28th is:
