November 2015 Monthly Challenge "Trash to Treasure with a T!"
November 2015 Monthly Challenge "Trash to Treasure with a T!"
EtsyMetal Monthly Team Challenges have started back up again! This months theme we were asked to take what one would consider to be trash and reconstruct into a piece of wearable art.
"Repurpose is the rage and one jeweler’s trash is another treasure. This month think outside the box by incorporating trash recyclables and/or unconventional materials into wearable art! And the theme of your piece should begin with the letter T!"
At the bottom of this post is the "next months December theme," so stay tuned for more artwork from us and our readers! I am posting a shout out for reader participation in our Monthly Challenges for 2016, and this starts with December's theme below! Please read deadlines for submitting also below. Everyone is welcome!

"Tiny Tool Talisman with Tassel and Teal
Ancient Glass
I created this necklace with an old brass hammer head, my first attempt at metalwork, two broken necklaces from long ago, some recently failed work ,tassels off of a string of gemstone beads and teal ancient glass. I originally intended it for myself, then my daughter scooped it up with promises of Instagram fame."

As you see I am still experimenting and did not finish on time, I will be making a big fun bracelet of the flowerishy pieces up top!

The December 2015: Monthly Challenge is...
"Ink blots!"
This theme is inspired by the Rorschach Testing. If you go to the link you can read the wiki explanation and also I see there are some online tests for fun.
So you can either make your own real ink blot, use one you find somewhere for inspiration or if you have Photoshop, and you don't want to get down and dirty with some ink, here are the instructions how to make a Rorschach style ink blot on your computer!
Hope you have a lot of inspiration and creative fun with this one, I cannot wait to see what you all come up with, it should be a spectacular collection coming on Jan 1st! A great visual welcoming celebration for the new year!
Thank you, and hoping you have a Happy, Healthy & Hopeful New Year to come!
