The EtsyMetal Team Jewelry challenge this month is "Work In Progress". Our team member participants were challenged to show a process picture along with a picture of the finished piece.

Enjoy these beautiful creations!

I thought you might like to see some of the steps involved in making my copper and bronze branch sculptures. These end up being small lightweight sculptures that can be displayed on a flat surface or hang on the wall.

I start by cutting and texturing bronze strips.

In the meantime, I’m also working on the leaf forms. In this picture you can see copper maple leaves that I’ve hammer textured and partially shaped.

I started to experiment with delft clay casting. I began practicing with antique buttons that I thought would make nice charms. I made the mold in the delft clay, melted the silver in the crucible, and poured it into the mold. Then magically a silver button appears!!! Just to fun!!! I also made a silver sheet ingot to roll out in the rolling mill.

Rough filing has been done on the top surface. Now I've got to do the inside and the angles.
